@TwiSuperFan sits down with @alchemission & @danielcudmore prior to New Moon back in November

Back in November,  @TwiSuperFan Myriam  (who will hopefully  forgive me for spelling  her name wrong last  time!) had the pleasure  of participating in a  round table interview  with both Charlie and  Dan prior to flying out  to LA for the New Moon  premiere.

The interview has  finally been posted and  here are some of the  highlights!

Q: You both play  rugby,  right? Did you  bring any  of the  mindset from that  sport to your fight  scenes?

Charlie: There’s a certain breed of person that plays rugby, especially the forwards, like me and Dan. There are two specific guys who play rugby. Those who have a real flair for the game, and a real flair for creativity, and the guys who are in it for the aggressive, primal side of the game. I didn’t really get to show much of that primal side in me, as Demitri. I have it in me, but it was canned during that fight scene. He has a lid on things, but wants to let loose. Demitri and Felix are a team. Sometimes in my trailer, I’m in my costume with full costume and contacts. I go vicious, and see how vicious I can get. It looks brilliantly scary. I can’t wait to actually unleash my character. He’s charming, but in total contrast, he can be vicious. That’s something I’ve definitely taken from my days as a rugby player, and various other things as well.

Dan: All of the sports I’ve done in my life have helped with stunts – with body control and awareness. It’s a side of human nature. We’re aggressive; we have that. It’s in our nature. Back in the day, we had to hunt and kill things with our hands. That’s just part of life. It’s part of survival. It’s not that we’re running around killing things during rugby, but you’re aggressive. The whole point is to beat the other person, and stop them from getting to a certain place. It is primal, and it’s certainly fun to tap into that thing that we always push down. It’s fun to bring that up. Rev that up. Charlie’s character is simmering; it’s bubbling under. My character, however, is a lot quicker to just go after someone.

And this little gem:

Q: Are you guys able to walk around cities without getting recognized?

Dan: Because of my height (6’ 8”), I get a lot of people coming up and asking me what sport I’m involved in. But you never know. After this comes out, we might get recognized more.

Q: You look different than you did in “X-Men.” You have clothes on.

Dan: That’s true. I actually don’t walk around in underwear all the time. It would be weird. If I kept the contact lenses from this film, I could wear them around, and I might get recognized a little more.

Did you honestly expect me not to include the rugby as a highlight? (You guys don’t know me at all …)
